The Communication Manager Messaging Federal application is installed as a solution template on an Avaya S8800 Server. It is a standalone application that is not installed with Communication Manager on the same server. Both the applications reside on separate servers.
The solution template is installed over the System Platform, which is software that is installed on a Linux® operating system Server. The System Platform can host one or more virtual machines. The solution template is installed within a virtual machine, which functions with specific memory and CPU units. Communication Manager provides the call processing for the Communication Manager Messaging Federal application.
Integration of Communication Manager Messaging Federal application with Communication Manager happens through the SIP protocol.
